Hispanic students at Elmhurst High School say that knowing your culture is vital to a good education.So last month they formed La Primera, or "The First." First of all, our academic team is one of the top-rated middle school teams in Fort Wayne. Our students work hard and about 50 percent of our students make the honor roll. Manuel Valdez does not limit his teaching to the classroom where he helps teen-agers understand the mysteries of algebra. Valdez a math teacher at Thousand Oaks High School also heads the school's Hispanic Club where he takes students on college visits and raises money for scholarships.
